Alvin had too many beersies!
Saturday the 14th, Valentine's Day morning gave us the main delights of the Chinchilla Melon Festival. The day began with a parade down the main street, great stuff. Then off to the local school where the main festival activities were underway, these included watermelon skiing and seed spitting competitions - just to name a few!
The next day at the Melon Festival, Alvin and Vik
We got an awesome spot under a marquee, as it was stinking hot about 40 degrees C. Beers and candyfloss!
Round two - after a big day out and about.
Beer pong and badminton were the nights events.
Trip to Carnarvon Gorge
The PLQ boys went on a trip further West to Carnarvon Gorge one weekend. Bit of camping and hiking were done, plus some yarns and beverages consumed.
Alvin all loaded up in the truck getting ready for our trip to Carnarvon.

The fern garden, it was about 20degC in here and humid out in the gorge it must have been near 35 and dry.
Entering the giant natural amphitheatre
Climbing up the steps
Inside the amphitheatre
Looking out, it really was massive
Another finger gorge, where there were King Ferns - the only spot this far inland in Qld
It was a awesome little spot to grab a bit to eat and relax out of the heat.
Walking back to the river to camp, awesome hike, I think the cliffs are about 80m high.

29th March 2015
One afternoon we wandered into the Urban Climb rock climbing facility about to squeeze in a hour or so of climbing, and they were setting up the black light competition. So we went away and caught up with Craig and had some sushi for dinner, then went back and entered the competition, why not?!
Shahn (#119) getting ready to compete in the black light bouldering competition
Michael (#117) also getting ready to climb, was a awesome night like a dance party plus climbing.
The walls, you can see the holds on the wall. The colours corresponding to the holds you can use for one run the boxes were the start or end point depending on the climb.
Michael did incredibly well climbing considering we don't usually boulder climb. Up against super fit people that climb every weekend and have trained for it, but an excellent night and we were glad to have stumbled into the event. We had heaps of fun!
Driving many kilometres for work....
I had a blow out on my work car at 110km/h, FR.
