3, 2, 1.... Blast off to South Africa!

June 1st - Sydney
We headed down to Sydney on the Saturday, as we could not get a connecting flight early enough and it was an excellent opportunity to catch up with our friend Rob and simultaneously show Eaky the bright lights of Sydney.
The lovely "Little Rob" and his girlfriend Jerlene, taking us down to the Marina near Kings Cross so Eak could drool over the boats!

We had dinner at one of the restaurants by the Opera House and caught the train back to our accommodation near the airport, heading back for an early night for our impending 14 hour flight - yay!

June 2nd - On route to South Africa

Somewhere over the vast amount of ocean off the South-West of Australia.  We were the closest we might ever get to Antarctica so we were trying to spot some icebergs, alas none were found.
Everyone pretty excited about the trip - Jenna, Shahn, Alana (Tucky) and Craig.

We arrived in Johannesburg all a bit worst for wear but in tact, all 30 of us piled off the plane and strolled through the airport attempting to get our bearing, new currency and having to learn to tip.  There was a 3hour layover before we could go to Durban, but fortunately it was a 1hour flight so we arrived in Durban at 8.30pm. With the travel time for that day ensuring us awake for over 30hours and man was it a struggle.  The bus from Durban Airport to our accommodation in Kloof, Biz Africa, was pretty hilarious.  Most people were trying to sleep or trying to stay awake.  Michael was hallucinating and having  daydreams, flailing arms and legs happening - pretty funny to watch.  Everyone was in bed at 10.30pm and up bright and early at 8am the next morning feeling pretty chirpy!
This was our humble abode, room 6, for two weeks.

June 3rd - Durban Waterfront, uShaka & Boys' Bungee
The daily battle to get 30+ people on one vehicle, we really stood out in Durban in our big ass green bus. Tourists aye?!
Hannah & Kerry!
uShaka Marine World, they have this big ship and have turned it into a massive aquarium.  It's really well planned out and have stunning aquatic exhibits.

Craig throwing himself off the platform and Andrew waiting for his turn!
